I made the reservation on-line at advantage's website (not through a 3d party) but due to a military commitment, I was not able to make the trip with my husband. I called the customer service as well as the Salt Lake City desk to change the reservation to my husbands name as well as add a car seat to it, and was told I cannot change any part of the reservation especially the driver to the... I made a rental agreement for my daughter-in-law because she needed a car temporarily to get to work. I picked Advantage b/c of the low rates. NOT SO FAST. I was flying into Denver Colorado and needed a car for a week. After shopping for prices found that advantage car rental advertised the lowest fee's. I rented the car for $489.00 + $9.00 a day for extra coverage. Terrible service! I have been charged for extras I never asked for. Don't answer to emails and manager hanged up the phone on me when I was trying to explain about their own mistakes. Horrible customer services and takes forever to process a rental. And don't trap on their cheap scam tactic, they use cheap rate to lure you into a more expensive rental and blame third party for making mistake. i booked at ewr advantage & got a shocker. the rates for booking are good but when u go to pick your car you come to know that the basic insurance cdw is 22 a day. wow. my total rental was 270 for 9 days and my insurance amount only matches that. since i paid in advance i cant cancel as my complete amount would go. so no option but to go with their insurance. they make money in insurance. bad... I reserved a car at Advantage through Orbitz for a one-way rental from Phoenix, dropping in Las Vegas 24 hours later. After I was dropped off at Phoenix airport to pick up the car, the Advantage employee demanded proof of my insurance coverages. We reserved a mid size suv . upon getting there was told this was an upgrade . My wife and I both feel safer in a bigger vehicle so we went for it. The first Nissan we got was filthy and smelled like URINE. The next on was so grimy stains all over the seats . They just wanted to give us the junk. We got an email shortly after we booked a one way rental from San Fran to Seattle for a vacation 6 months out. The email said their Seattle office is closing so they are transferring my reservation to Dollar Rent A Car, it said they would honor our rates and dates. Advantage Rent A Car was awful.. Not only they gave me the wrong category car (downgrade) because they ran out they wouldn't upgrade. They also charged an extra $240.00 instead of what most rent a cars do and just hold an amount and not charge your card. Add comment
