Here are a number of experiences on my trip to the US in March 2011.

I left two USB cords in the dashboard console, I rang the agent at Austin Airport two hours after dropping the car off, never returned to me.

Then onto Las Vegas, they provided a car that was cigarette smoke ridden (the windows were down in the parking lot) when I got to the hotel I complained, it was my problem to return the car for a replacement, however I did negotiate an upgrade, what I didn't realize was that my refusal of additional insurance was ignored and they whopped me an extra $10 a day, and the same thing happened when I picked up the next car in Los Angeles (after having to ring the LAX agency to pick us up we waited over 30 minutes watching Hertz and Enterprise pickups go past every 5 minutes),

how do they add on the LDW insurance, they try the upsell, its refused, they then print a 3 page document and you are asked to sign the last page which doesnt contain any of the invoice details. Try to complain and theres no mechanism.
